on my laptop s2ram works properly in all below mentioned ways:

# s2ram -f
# s2ram -f -a 1
# s2ram -f -a 2
# s2ram -f -a 3


My laptop:

# s2ram -i
This machine can be identified by:
    sys_vendor   = "Acer            "
    sys_product  = "Aspire 3690     "
    sys_version  = "V2.80"
    bios_version = "V2.80"


My system (openSUSE 10.2):
---------------------------
# uname -srmo
Linux 2.6.18.2-34-default i686 GNU/Linux
