Hello there,

I am using Dell Inspiron 5150 with opensuse 10.2. The
problem is if I suspend-to-ram by right clicking on
kpowersave icon and then wakeup with power button the
fan runs as required and then adjusts its speed
according to temperature requirement and turns off
also which I find quite normal.
However, if I close the lid of my computer and
then wakeup then fan starts at a moderate speed and
keeps running in that state. It never turns off.
I must tell here that I am using kpowersave 0.7
(not sure about the exact version) which reads
configuration file (as it doesn't have any graphical
settings at the moment) in
/opt/kde3/share/config/kpowersaverc. I have adjusted
it as described at
http://en.opensuse.org/KPowersave_0.7.x_config_tutorial

I should also point out that the fan of my laptop is
only controlable by BIOS (version A38) and not by
kernel as /proc/acpi/fan is empty.

Could someone point what might be the problem?

Chirag
