Yes, I tried the options in the same order as in the README file.
It doesn't work with the "-a X" and "-m" options, either the screen will stay 
dark
or the machine freezes completely.
With "-p -m" or only "-p" the screen becomes white with a few gray stripes in it
(this is because of the post, I can reproduce it with "vbetool post"),
but the system doesn't freeze.

The only working combinations are "-p -s" and "-s".
I thought using only "-s" would be better than "-p -s", though "-p -s"
is higher in the list, so I just reported the working "-s" option.

I forgot to mention in the first mail that it is working great
from console and also from X.

The machine is a Centrino notebook with a Pentium M (1.6 GHz) processor,
Intel 855GM chipset with integrated graphics.
