I've found that

s2ram -f -a 1

works for 

s2ram -i:

This machine can be identified by:
    sys_vendor   = "Gateway                         "
    sys_product  = "MT6707                          "
    sys_version  = "3408385R                "
    bios_version = "77.09   "

I see from the wiki that, since this has an Intel 945GM graphics set, -a 3 
should probably be used, but I don't understand the difference.  This report is 
from s2ram 0.3, but I've since downloaded and installed the 0.6 version from 
Debian (cvs20070202) and it also doesn't recognize the machine.
