I've been trying for several weeks to get my Linux system to successfully
suspend/resume. I was able to suspend/resume in text mode but when I
switched to X mode, system always locked up with garbled video display.

System overview:
- ASUS A7V133 motherboard
- AMD Athlon 850MHz
- 256MB RAM
- Linux distro is Fedora Core 7
- kernel 2.6.22.1-41.fc7

Here is output of lspci:
/sbin/lspci

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Rage 128 RF/SG AGP

I've read on several newsgroups the ATI Rage 128 and linux, especially with
regard to suspend/resume with X windows are not good friends. I tried
various combination of pm-utils quirks with no success.

At least 2 people responded to my posts indicating they were able to
suspend/resume successfully with the ATI Rage 128 using s2ram -f -p -s -a 3.
I installed s2ram and gave it a try but unfortunetly, there are issues.
During resume the following message is repeated on the screen (and system is
somewhat locked...does not respond to ctl-alt-del):

eth0: Link wake-up event 0xffffffff
eth0: PCI error 0xf00000
eth0: tx underrun with maximum tx threshold, txcfg 0xd0f0102e

Is there anyone in this group that might help debug this issue with me (I'm
happy to use pm-utils or s2ram or other)? I can make changes to system
configuration files, runs tests and capture and provide data.

It would be great to get suspend/resume working cleanly on my system. Thanks
in advance.
