2nd Annual Multi-Faith Dinner for Ithaca/Tompkins Personal stories of renewal and spiritual sustainability
6:00-8:30 p.m., April 19, 2012 400 Riley Robb Hall, Cornell University (ample free parking next to the building) You are invited to join us and people of at least a dozen distinct religious and spiritual traditions for a dish-to-pass dinner. At a table with five to seven other people of diverse backgrounds, you will be invited to share some reflections on your personal practices of renewal and spiritual sustainability. What do you do for renewal? (Understood broadly to include practices of prayer, meditation, singing, chanting, study, exercise, sleep and play, as well as including lifestyle choices about work, charity, service and consumption practices). What does your religious or spiritual tradition teach about practices for renewal? What could we as individuals and as a community be sensitive to enhance your, and everyone's, practices and experiences of renewal and spiritual sustainability? Dishes will be labeled and organized to honor the food restrictions (for any reason) of all participants. Please be prepared to share the list of ingredients for the food(s) you bring. Please RSVP and questions to: Eric Clay, [email protected] or 607-592-6874 Hold the date: Look for announcements of a Fall Multi-Faith event on November 18, 2012, in conjunction with and just prior to the Area Congregations Together Thanksgiving Multi-faith Service.
