Well, first things first: glyc can't be broken down to glucose since it has fewer C atoms. Second: glyc is a flat chain of three C atoms, glucose is a ring compound of five C atoms and one O. So glucose is a heterogeneous ring compound. There is a process called glycerolysys in bio-reactions - apparently it happens in our bodies too, but I'm not quite sure what exactly is happening. A simple way to convert glyc to sugar - that one I don't know.
