This is probably a stupid question, but what exactly is transesterification? I mean, I know it occurs when making biodiesel but can anyone explain the chemistry of it? I have to write about it in a fair bit of detail for some school coursework. Basically, what happens to the fatty acids and everything? Thanks in advance for your help. Abi Fielder
