With gasoline blends, no water. With no gasoline, as low as 160-proof (80%) ethanol is okay, and you gain the benefits of water injection. If you use an alcohol injection system, your mix can be as low as 50-50 (100-proof), so you can use a simple still. See The Manual for the Home and Farm Production of Alcohol Fuel by S.W.
