I'm not a rep, but Bergey has been producing residential and small commercial wind turbines for 20 years.
www.bergey.com Smallest unit start-up wind speed is 3 m/s (6.7 mph). Cut-in wind speed is 2.5 m/s (5.6 mph). I imagine that the 0.3 m/s start up mentioned previously in "Biofuel From Horse Manure" was a mis-read or mis-print. If anyone wants to pool a group of neighbors or a small town, you might start looking at www.vestas.com .67 to 2.0 megawatt windgens - that'll really flip your switch.
