Hello Folks, I have been a lurker on this sight for months now, choosing to keep silent and just learn as much as possible from everyone. I am an amateur to say the least. I have learned everything that I know about auto work from having to do it by myself(lack of money for professional repairs... totally worth every agonizing hour though!!!). I have fallen in love with the idea of biofuels, and even made attempts at producing my own. However a cracked block in my little rabbit has really set me back!!! I have two questions that noone I have contacted to date can answer for me. 1. I know that biodiesel works, and as soon as my little diesel isn't hobbling I will attempt that again. I also have a 65' Chevy C-10 that runs better than my girlfriends 96' Eclipse. How (if possible)does one modify an old straight six to run on E-85 or something similar to it? I have had answers like" it's possible, but be really careful you don't burn out your head gasket!!!" O.K. But what do I do? New high zoot piston rods, rings, pistons, and a little headwork(god... I hope I didn't just answer my own question)! Would it even be worth my time? O.K., and Number 2. I am 26, I have a B.A. in Liberal Arts and have spent the last 4 years in the 82d Airborne Division. My time ends Nov. 9th. I think..."wouldn't it be great to pursue a brand new career in a field that I feel strongly about AND am extremely interested in!!!" Yup. Only every time I e-mail some Co. about my interest they seem to either totally ignore me, or give a courtesy "thanks for your interest but...." deal. Is that it? No potential for a branch of fuel sales or marketing? It's a real "bummer" to express interest in something and not have anyone else share your enthusiasm ya' know! Anyway I really enjoy reading all of your e-mails, and would also like to thank everyone for all of the great information! Love it! Thanks for all your input!!! Mac Seago N.C.
