Hi All, Does anyone have knowledge of a web site or sites which gives details of CO2 and other greenhouse and noxious gases and/or liquid wastes etc. released by the operations of oil refineries, in particular those with older technology.
Have any U.S. refineries been shut down because of non compliance with the Energy Policy Act (EpAct)? Does anyone know anything about a company called InterOil, and why it is shipping a refinery it owns, presently located near Houston, Texas, to Papua New Guinea? For your info, every geologist knows that all of Papua New Guinea's present and possibly as yet undiscovered conventional oil reserves are very small and will be totally depleted in 12 years or less. So why enter into a 30 year contract with the PNG government and build a refinery there. Could it be that oil will be sourced from elsewhere e.g. East Timor etc. and the particular type of refinery would not be allowed to operate in other countries?
