The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) has announced an all-time
monthly
production record of 166,000 barrels per day (b/d) was produced in November.
This was
the fourth all-time monthly record in a row for the industry. Production for
the month
was up 32 percent compared to last November when 126,000 b/d of ethanol were
produced.

ãWith Congress poised to return to work on a national energy bill in a few
weeks, the
ethanol industry continues to prove that they deserve a prominent place in the
discussions,ä
said Bob Dinneen, Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) president. ãAlready
producing at
a rate of more than 2.5 billion gallons a year, and with the capacity to do
more, Congress must
be more aggressive in promoting ethanol as part of the solution to our energy
security problem.
With instability in Venezuela and the Middle East, oil has gone back over $30
per barrel. There is
 an alternative ö homegrown ethanol.ä

RFA says the ethanol industry is on track to produce an annual record of more
than 2 billion gallons
this year. Currently, 68 ethanol plants have the capacity to produce over 2.7
billion gallons annually.
Nine additional plants are under construction.
