I wonder if the hypocrisy of U.S. subsidies under alleged "free market" advocates will ever be discussed in public at any high levels. But more importantly, I wonder if there are penalties for this sort of thing. It seems to me in catching the occassional wind of a trade disagreement between the U.S. and other countries, there have been allegations by the U.S. of "unfair" foreign government support for foreign industries. What about this Corn production industry? The last link carries some mention of anti-dumping. Why hasn't the Mexican government brought action? Maybe somehow they're motivated not to. I don't know.
