Mundane as this story may be, it lends some perspective as to the extent that ECD's (Energy Conversion Devices, stock symbol ENER) actions, and the progress of their NiMH efforts and Unisolar efforts, are governed in part by important members of the Chevron Texaco team (stock symbol CVTX...Both Chevron and TExaco were I think formerly Components of the Dow 30 Industrials Index, but apparently no longer). I realize that some folks see the CVTX folks as entirely in earnest, doing everything humanly possible to promote ECD's solar production and profit-making and their NiMH EV-battery production and profit-making and licensing. I guess I just disagree. It's not quite clear to me how much CVTX and ECD are doing to promote these lines. I'd like to know more. I see CVTX "going to the mat" and spending hundreds of millions and billions on other enterprises, but as to the renewable energy ones, I'm not sure as to what real level of commitment they have. It seems to me we've seen "not much". The few hundred killowatts of solar power at their oil operation was nice. How about a few hundred megawatts, and more, to power some EVs and homes in the potential solar fields of the American Southwest near LA and other municipal areas? Nah.
