I'm getting started in the Seattle area. I've got a 55-gallon barrel,
pipes, mixing buckets, storage containers and a '83 diesel
Mercedes. I have plans for a system with parts so that I should
just have to flip a few switches and turn a few valves to make and
separate my biodiesel--I just haven't put it together yet. I know
there are some folks here in Seattle area that are making
biodiesel. If someone wouldn't mind me coming over some
afternoon to help make a batch, I'm sure I would be one-
Saturday-of-assembly away from making my own.
I would hate to put it together inefficiently and waste any time
and/or money. I would also be happy to make an exploded
diagram plus parts list and where to get them for a high quality,
low-maintenance processor. In addition, add-ons like a closed
methoxide system, methanol distiller, a wash/waste processor,
and lowest-cost quality test kit in the same format would be
extremely helpful to other folks down the road in my position.
It seems that a considerable portion of newbies like me are
probably quietly waiting in the wings for this same set of plans
and have not had their voice heard. Let's assemble a modern
set of plans designed around say, the high yield "Foolproof"
method. It could always be modified to accommodate Randal
Son and others. I would be willing to do most of the footwork if I
had others willing to offer alternatives for potential problems in
the designs
Let's get some basic detailed plans made so we can save
discussion for techniques for refinement and new ideas.
