A "complete solution" is going to require more than a wash tank. But Sean
Davis' stand-pipe system has a few benefits. One is that it's inexpensive
and another is that you never need to be worried about emulsion clinging to
the sides of the container at a level above the standpipe intake. That makes
for a clean take-off after the last wash.

There will be some water contamination inside the standpipe, meaning that
the first few seconds of the fuel take-off will have to be separated from
the balance that follows. Don't know how well a shroud over the intake would
prevent the majority of that. But it would be worth a try just to keep any
emulsion from building up inside the take-tube.

Taking fuel off the top after the last wash is a preferred method to reduce
contamination of the fuel as it goes into a "drying" stage.
