<x-charset ISO-8859-1>Ted,

If it's a wick type kerosene heater it's doubtful that the fuel chamber is
close enough to the combustion point to overcome the reduced wicking
properties of biodiesel in comparison to kerosene. If you could somehow put
the fuel supply within an inch of the combustion point or devise a delivery
system that feeds a constant (but adjustable) rate of fuel to a level
directly below the combustion point, then you would have a winner.

Easiest way to understand the problem is to take a kerosene lamp, fill it
with biodiesel and observe.

Someone with a little sheet metal and brazing capability could probably rig
something up safely. An automatic fuel shut-off would be essential if you
went with a gravity or pressure fuel feed.

Subject: [biofuel] Question from a newbie

> Greetings,

> I have been a member of your group for a little while now. The amount of
information is incredable. It has my mind working on ways I can conserve
energy and generate my own heat/electricity. Thanks to all.
> I have a question. I have a portable kerosine heater I use in my garage
for heat when I am working there. Could I use SVO or WVO in it without
ruining it? Has anyone tried?
