<x-charset ISO-8859-1>Working on an 84 toyota pickup diesel. the questions I have pertain to running it off diesel for starting and then "homemade wvo biodiesel" for run.
1. what materials should be avoided? I asumme the rubber lines, I also remeber someone saying copper was bad? Aluminum fuel tanks were acceptable. 2.I wanted to run 2 filters on the truck, a 10 plus micron bulk type filter then a 2 or so. should I go with an extra fuel transfer pump to help feed the system? 3. I have talked to 2 places about getting some WVO out of there barrel and was turned down, they acted like I was trying to do something illegal with it? what do you say when you ask for waste oil. 4. I have looked at several methods of converting WVO into biodiesel and am a little confused, anyone got a site that really works? And I could make 5-10 gallon test batches? 5. Cannot afford to trash injection pumps, injectors, etc. Any good hints for my newby butt? 6. the winter temps here in nc mountains get down to below zero somedays in the winter. I assume the "biodiesel" will need to be heated before put into injection pump? Do you use tank heaters on the car? I thought about heating the WVO oil with cooling system on the truck? 7. I assume it is kind of illegal to run a fuel that you do not pay road tax on, anyone ever got in trouble? I had a friend get the third degree for running off road diesel in a ton truck. 8. Where to find or make a good viscosity meter and your secret sources for supplies? Any help for me will be apperciated. so for spelling but I couldnt find a spell check. Thanks for input.
