<x-charset ISO-8859-1>No Jay,

You don't have to wait for some environmental group or news media outlet to
claim that it is pollution.

I'll do it.... and I won't even charge you a membership or access fee.

Anything that is not natural to a specific environment, much less in
concentrated form, is a pollutant.

In case you never noticed (hard to believe that to be the case as hard
drinking as ex-Greenpeacers/Earth Firsters/Sea Shepherd and general
disgruntled activists have been known to be), alcohol is a poison beyond a
certain level. (erego the colloquilism "polluted" or to "get polluted").

You can bet both your bottom dollar and your bippie that there was some
degree of kill zone, even though the spill was ethanol.

Just because it would have disippated quickly doesn't make it any less an
incidence of pollution, anymore than one drop of fossil oil spewed from an
outboard motor can be discounted because of its relatively small volume in
comparison to a barge or tanker splitting in two, or in comparison to a
natural seep of crude oil as the Saharra Club would care to persuade.

3.5 million gallons of dispersed alcohol in an ocean environment does not a
margarita make.
