Just a little input, my 2 cents worth. I think you should be RETARDING or DELAYING the timing instead of ADVANCING it. Biodiesel burns cleaner and faster that petro-diesel and thus ADVANCING it will cause your engine to run hotter.
At least, that's what we had to do. We have several Komatsu diesel forklift that we are running a 2% blend on (using the biodiesel as an additive). The engines started running hot and I checked the JTF pages and it said optional to retard the timing 2-3 degrees. (biodiesel and your vehicle) Correct me please if I am wrong. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Matt Yarrison" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, November 04, 2005 1:49 AM Subject: Re: [Biofuel] Advancing timing on diesel engines [was re:Biofueldigest, vol 7 issue 4- timing] > Dear Michael- > Please look at the iowa state papers at: > http://www.me.iastate.edu/biodiesel/Technical%20Papers/Papers_link.htm.
