Yes got your point, but I would just say that before the last ice age, when the hydrogen fuel that powers the sun begins to run out, the sun will expand and become a red giant. When that happens the oceans will boil away and the earth will be engulfed in flames. So we better have figured out what to do before then (about 4 billion years from now)!
