Yes, wrong answer. I'm sure many good and honest people are to be found in police forces, but I'm also sure many good and honest people are to be found in jail. Or worse. I figured that out long ago, but that was no great feat, it was in apartheid South Africa, where law-abiding whites might think all you had to do was keep your nose clean, but law-abiding blacks knew different, and so did I. Maybe that's an extreme example, but I found it wasn't much different in other countries, just a matter of degree. I was a bit surprised some years later, not in South Africa anymore, to read the same view in a letter to the editor published by the rather conservative Far East Economic Review: "The only safe relationship to have with the police is no relationship at all."
