Posting this for Ian Shapiro:

Dear Friends:

A group of Cornell students will be visiting homes in the Tompkins County
area, next Saturday, April 28, to do outreach about energy conservation,
including efficient lighting. This is a free service, and they will have
examples
of lightbulbs with them, as well as other ideas to reduce energy usage in
your homes. Please consider signing up for this, to support their efforts,
and
to learn about energy conservation, and/or pass this along to friends. I am
providing guidance to these students, and think their efforts are fantastic.
Please take advantage of this unique opportunity. See below for more
details.

Sincerely,

Ian

Community Energy Outreach
Signup Sheet
A community outreach day has been scheduled for Saturday April 28, 2007 to
bring ideas about energy savings into people’s homes in the Tompkins County
Area. Led by a group of students from Cornell University, and co-sponsored
by
Taitem Engineering, the students will go door-to-door with practical
information on such things as how to install compact fluorescent lightbulbs,
how to
reduce energy used by “vampire” power supplies that feed consumer
electronics, and more. The outreach is being done in conjunction with the
First
Annual Global Warming Initiative, and its “Feel the Heat” week at Cornell.
Our hope is that following our visit you will be able to save 10-20% on your
utility bills, and substantially contribute to the effort to stop global
warming.
Each home visit is expected to last 30-60 minutes.
