The latest AARP bulletin has a great article on programs for making
"Complete Streets" that are equally accessible to all:

Links to other sites let you rate your neighborhood's qualities and
find out how "walkable" your neighborhood is. Evidently the Senate
is considering a bill that would require any federally funded road
project "to make planning for the needs of all residents a routine
part of the design."

Activists may pursue this link: www.completestreets.org.

PS: The same issue of the AARP Bulletin lists this statistic: "21
million is the predicted number of disabled older Americans by the
year 2040, up from 10 million in 2000."
