Hi Folks
I am looking for help with planning and carrying out Sustainable
Tompkins (ST) monthly gatherings for 2008, an innovative and festive
series that is currently being developed. You are invited to join a
small planning team that is forming or to work on one of the
gatherings with your organization, or as an individual.
The series will be framed as Equity and Sustainability Monthly
Programs, to highlight the priority the ST Executive Board is placing
on social and economic equity, which is integral to building
community sustainability, but rarely a working priority. The programs
will be developed collaboratively
with partner organizations and projects from across the spectrum of
community sustainability, and will reach out broadly to all members
of our community.
Some of the programs planned are: Youth Envisioning a Positive,
Empowered Future; Racism and Sustainability; Sustainable
Transportation For All; Green and Just Schools for our Children;
Sustainability and Spirituality; "Green Collar " Jobs for Our Region,
etc.
