You may already know that the Ithaca Downtown Partnership and City Public Art
Commission are focusing the '08 Art in the Heart of the City exhibit on 'green'
art - which makes us in a tie with Bellevue, WA for thye first 'green' public
art program in the country.

WANTED: ARTISTS AND GREEN VISIONS for Ithaca, NYs 9th Art in the Heart of
the City public sculpture exhibit: Celebrating Sustainable Community, an
Exploration in Greening Public Art. For the first time focusing within a
theme, 08 will feature 3-6 works by three artists who use natural, recycled
and/or sustainable materials to evoke the images, themes, issues and dreams of
sustainable community. Stipend, insurance and installation assistance provided,
plus widespread exposure as exemplars, on new online gallery, a Forum on
Greening Public Art, and collaborative public programming. Deadline April 1,
exhibit opening late June and ending in November. For information on Ithacas
