"LIGHTEN UP CAROLINE!" ON APRIL 19 -- CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS Energy Independent Caroline is a local group of citizens working to declare independence from fossil fuels in the Town of Caroline. As part of a grassroots education & outreach campaign, the group will distribute one energy-saving compact-fluorescent lightbulb to all 1,400 households in the Town of Caroline on Saturday April 19.
The project "Lighten Up Caroline!" will collectively save residents $70,000 in energy bills and reduce carbon emissions by over 800,000 pounds. That's the equivalent of stopping the burning of 38,000 gallons of gasoline, and equals the amount of carbon sequestered annually by 77 acres of pine forests! Volunteers will go door-to-door in pairs on Saturday April 19 from 11:00am to 3:30pm. Over 150 volunteers are needed. Meet neighbors and make history! Every volunteer will receive lunch and a compact-fluorescent lightbulb. Sign up today! Sign up individually or as a group. If you can commit to volunteering, email [EMAIL PROTECTED] by April 6! **************Create a Home Theater Like the Pros. Watch the video on AOL Home.
