Hi Sustainability Friends,

Tonight is a chance for the Ithaca community to come out and have a great
time while showing support for a band who truly walks their talk.
Thousands of One three point mission is to end racism, promote
sustainability, and help people connect with the spiritual realm through
music.

Over the past few years, they have performed benefit shows for the
Multicultural Resource Center, Ithaca Health Alliance, Food Not Bombs, the
People’s Garden Project, Ithaca Community News, the Full Plate Farm
Collective, and many others. They are also the creative force behind the
Summertime Block Party, which is the Race Liberation alliance's big annual
event at GIAC to promote community unity while focusing on social justice
and sustainability.

Thousands of One will release their long-awaited second CD SoulForce on
Ithaca’s indie label I-Town Records on Saturday, March 29 with a very
special show at Castaways. The Race Liberation Alliance will be there in
solidarity and helping to raise funds for our upcoming 2nd Annual
Summertime Block Party on July 5th, 2008.

So come celebrate with us tonight (Saturday, March 29) at Castaways and
help support the band that gives so much to the Ithaca community.

A little more about the show March 29:

The CD Release Party features very special guests Millionaires of Love
and Emerson B., who will open the 9PM show. Emerson B. is a singer/
songwriter who blends funk and soul over Hiphop beats. Millionaires of
Love is an
eight-piece roots reggae, rocksteady, and ska band featuring Kevin
Kinsella on guitar and vocals, Lee Hamilton on saxophone, and David
“Solid” Gould on drums, all former members of John Brown’s Body.

Castaways is located at 413 Taughannock Boulevard in Ithaca. Doors
open at 9:00 PM with a performance by Emerson B; Millionaires of Love go
on at
10:00 PM and Thousands of One at 11:00 PM. Ages 18+. Tickets are $8 in
advance; $10 day of show. CD Release special: Purchase ticket and CD at
door for $20. Advance tickets are available at Tuff Soul, 516 W. State
Street, and Volume Records, 148 E. State Street (the Commons).

A little more about SoulForce:

Recorded over the past year, SoulForce fuses 70s-era funk, soul and R&B
with a unique approach to Hiphop, gospel, electronica, afrobeat, and a
few lessons from the school of roots reggae.

The album features a vocal collaboration with Speech of the Grammy-award
winning Arrested Development and performances by Elliot Martin of John
Brown’s Body, Nate Silas Richardson of the Sim Redmond Band, and R&B
singer Mbusi. The album is a joint production between Elliot Martin and
Joel Blizzard, drummer for Thousands of One.
