Dear Friends--Sustainable Tompkins is looking for one or two people to
distribute flyers advertising the Monthly Gathering on Green Jobs to be
held on May 6, 2008. Getting out the word is an important part of the
process of preparing for each Monthly Gathering. Distributing flyers to
local organizations and bulletin boards in various localities allows one to
meet interesting people and be a part of the progressive development of the
sustainability movement in Ithaca and Tompkins County. The flyer
distribution needs to occur over the next few days within the City of
Ithaca and other nearby locations. If you have a car or a bike and can
contribute one or two hours of your time please contact me
directly. Please do not reply to the list. Thanks.
Tom Shelley

P.S.: We are looking for organizations and locations where we can
distribute flyers in other local communities--Enfield, Trumansburg, Dyden,
Freeville, Danby, Caroline, Lansing and our other neighbors in Tompkins
County. If you participate in community center, church, fire hall or other
local activity center or if you know of a bulletin board in a coffee house
or laundromat where you could post a flyer for us, please let us know and
we can get a few flyers to you.

P I thank you for printing this e-mail only if it is necessary

"Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present
without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own
needs."

The World Commission on Environment and Development,

Our Common Future, Oxford University Press, 1987

MY NOTE: Sustainable development does not mean "sustainable growth" as
growth per se is not sustainable. And the term "sustainable" has to mean
"for a very long time" (A. Bartlett).

"The frog does not drink up the pond in which he lives." Sioux proverb
