Ecofarm for Kids and Adults- Mushroom Innoculation
Saturday, May 31 - 10am - 2pm
Visit Ramp Hollow Farm in Enfield and learn how to
innocculate hardwood logs with shitake, oyster and
other mushrooms. Those interested can also
take a woods walk and do plant ID. Please pack a
lunch and bring swimming cloths and and watershoes for
the kids. Also bring your power drills and an extra
battery. Carpool will leave proptly from greenstar at
9am. Farm is located on Rt. 79 8 miles west of
Ithaca, NY 1/2 mile past the blinking light in Enfield
on the left. Look for the big red barn.
Ramp Hollow Farm is in its first year as an active
permaculture farm and educational site managed by
Joshua Dolan, local permaculture designer and
community food activist. Ramp Hollow is a cooperative
and community based project which seeks a diverse and
robust farm system which empowers and enrichies its
members while improving the land. Current operations
include maple syrup production, wild ramp harvest,
mushroom production, market garden and educational events.
