For those of you looking for more information on community kitchens, here is an
email from FoodNet (a yahoo group you can join) with some references of those
who might be able to help you. Here in NY there are several community kitchens-
the Battenkill Kitchen has been the most successful of all.
http://www.battenkillkitchen.org/resources.htm The Small Scale Food Processors
Association should be able to help. http://www.nyssfpa.com/. You could also
contact Nelson Farms at Morrisville College. http://www.nelsonfarms.org/
They've helped alot of folks get started with processing, though mostly of a
commercial nature; but I bet the principles are the same and they could point
you in the right direction if nothing else.

Many thanks to Kathrine, Lawrence, Katie, and Sherry for your responses to my
question!

FYI, apparently the NBIA does list ONLY member kitchens, so while that is a
small percentage, the NBIA list is still a good resource.

I look forward to the AEO directory when it comes out. I assume there will be
an announcement to this group, Katie? (and maybe a discount to Foodnet members
who are not AEO members? ;-)

Sherry, looks like you have the best aggregation at this point. Thank you! May
I offer a couple updates?

Airport Business Park in Spokane closed their kitchen and sold out their
equipment this spring. They were one of the very first in the country, but are
no longer there (the Industrial Park is still there, and doing well, but
kitchen was neglected and died an - unfortunately - overdue death.)

Bonner Business Center in Sandpoint still alive and kicking vigorously! But
contact name and information are way out of date. New web site is:
www.bonnerbusinesscenter.com
Wally, I think you are on this list, you might send your updates Sherry's
direction!

Also, not on your list, Sherry, but two more kitchens with very busy operations
in my part of the world:

University of Idaho - Food Technology Center
http://www.ag.uidaho.edu/ftc/

Mission Mountain Food Center (Montana)
http://www.mtmountainmarket.org/

What I might suggest to this group --- I offer to start with Sherry's list, add
to what I already have, and develop a more exhaustive list, while waiting for
the AEO resource to launch (and maybe we can work together to cover all bases,
Katie??)

Sherry's list (Click on "Kitchen Incubators - Nationwide):
http://www.shoalsec.com/CCC/Client_Packet/index.html

Anyway, anyone on the list who is not on Sherry's list, please email contact
information, address, web site, etc to me at:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

I will share the updated database with everyone who shares with me, and forward
my findings to Katie as a cross reference.

Thanks!

Go to ccc.shoalsec.com and look under “new client package”. I have compiled
a list of kitchen incubators nationwide. It is probably not the most up to
date but it’s a start.

  Greetings to the group...

Is there a directory or database of all the food incubation/shared use
kitchens in the US?

Does Cameron Wolds book on Establishing a Shared-Use Commercial Kitchen
include such a list?
