Hi: I whole heartdly agree with Elan Shapiro's post on driving. You can drastically decrease your fuel usage and carbon footprint by "how you drive". I have been hyper-mile driving with my aging subaru and boosted my MPG from 27 mpg to 40 mpg simply by changing driving habits. I won't paste a 5 mile long article here on hyper-mile, just Google it to find out more. Btw, I mention this on all the lists I belong to, can people try and just post a new reply to the list rather than just clicking "reply" which re-quotes the original long post. This cuts down on the sheer physical length of quoted replies. It is time consuming to have to browse huge, lengthy (literally) quoted replies to get to 3 new lines of replied information.
Also, wouldn't it be great it we added sensors to every intersection with a stop-go light so you would not be forced to sit for 2 minutes at a RED LIGHT when there are Absolutely ZERO cars crossing the interection with the GREEN LIGHT. What a waste of fuel, and release of unnecessary auto pollution in our city!!!
