Acrylic is the plastic in so-called "latex" caulks and paints. The highest
quality paints are 100% acrylic latex in the resin portion of the paint.
Among caulks, there are several competing high-quality bases, including
urethane. I have no experience using these caulks on asphalt or concrete
cracks, but they would have superior elasticity compared to petroleum-based
products.
