Hello Sustainable Tompkins,

First, thank you for all of the wonderful work that you are doing here
in Tompkins County!

My name is Megan Gregory and I am a graduate student at Cornell. Right
now I am working on a project about the different social processes that
promote adoption of sustainable farming systems, with a focus on the
Finger Lakes region and New York state.

I am trying to compile some historical data on local environmental
movements, so I thought that I would ask all of you who are leaders of
an environmental organization to provide some information on your
group. If you work with an environmental group and have not already
received an email from me, please let me know and I will send you a file
to enter your organization's information (I guess the listserv does not
accept attachments). Please respond only to me ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) and
NOT the entire listserv, as I am anticipating lots of responses given
the level of involvement in environmental issues in this area.

A few notes on entering your info:
1. There are three worksheets: NGOs, government agencies, and
university/college organizations. Please enter your organization's
information on the correct sheet by clicking on the tabs at the bottom
of the window.
2. The information I am asking for is your organization's name, focus,
year founded, and number of people involved (staff and volunteers) over
the years.
3. Please use one of the codes listed at the top of the worksheet to
indicate your organization's main focus.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

I will be happy to share my completed list of environmental
organizations with all contributors.

Best wishes in your environmental work!

Sincerely,

Megan Gregory
