Margaret,

I really am trying to reform myself and not be such a downer.

Would it help if I were to point out that unless they've trashed it somewhere
in the Town of Ithaca Planning department files is a proposal by me for a
bicycle/pedestrian path that would run down through the woods and connect Rte
96 at Cayuga Medical Center with the Black Diamond Trail in Cass Park?

The challenge is that if it were a direct route it would have a grade about the
same as Cliff Street, but that could be moderated by incorporating a switchback
and some flat sections.  The more sane among us however could opt for putting
the bike on the bus for the uphill climb.

It could extend out Dates Drive to Duboise Road.  Museum of the Earth, Finger
Lakes School of Massage and Lakeside Nursing Home could all be connected to it

The cost would be about the same as a nice 100-car park and ride lot.

Best.

Now George is getting personal. Darn! A park'n'ride in the town of
Ithaca is one of my dreams! Actually I greatly appreciate his expanding my
awareness of the many factors involved. Some I see as challenges to be
addressed, but as usual, George has also challenged my way of thinking.

Margaret
