Hi everyone,
Just wanted to let you know about some fungi-related outreach events that
are part of the Light in Winter festival going on this weekend.
These events are both free and in the Mann Library.
Fungus Amongus is a kid friendly event and has info about beneficial
(mycorrhizal types and species found in food products and medicines) and
harmful (plant and animal pathogenic) fungi. We'll have microscopes,
videos, informational displays and scientists on hand to answer questions.

lives, but we seldom notice them. Kids and adults
can get up close and personal with the fungi that inhabit
the human sphere. Led by David Kalb of the Cornell
Department of Plant Pathology. And don't miss

images of miniature fungi captured by Kent Loeffler
with a specialized borescope lens.
