Snug Planet, LLC Job Description: Energy Efficiency Technician Last updated: 1/30/09 Hours: 40 hours/week Pay range: Certified Living Wage Employer – starting wage based on experience Other Benefits: Paid vacation/sick leave, tool allowance, health insurance, and employer-match retirement benefit (offered after successfully completing 3-month trial period). Reports to: Crew Team Leader Primary Purpose: Energy Efficiency Technicians are responsible for installing energy efficiency improvements including insulation, air sealing, and windows. Technicians are expected to demonstrate a high level of professionalism, enthusiasm, initiative and skill. Based on demonstrated skills, certifications, and job performance, technicians may move into positions of Building Analyst or Crew Team Leader. Primary Job Skills/Requirements: • Responsible, reliable, hard working • Willingness to work outdoors and in attics, basements, and crawlspaces year-round • Basic construction experience • Valid driver license and reliable transportation • Ability to work successfully on a team Job Responsibilities: • Arrive at work promptly ready to help with all work related to the day’s job (e.g. loading/unloading vehicles, prepping tools and materials, driving to customer’s site, installing insulation, windows, etc. , air sealing, and other duties as required). • Demonstrate initiative to solve problems while taking direction from Crew Team Leaders. • Learn new skills on the job and at scheduled trainings. • Adhere to all safety procedures and standards. • Adhere to all company policies. • Demonstrate a friendly, respectful, courteous manner with all customers. • Assist with clean-up at the end of the day at both the customer’s site and at the Snug site. • Supply/maintain basic hand tools (hammer, tape measurer, utility knife, screw driver, etc.) and a cordless drill.
