A new post of "White House Farmer" is being proposed for the incoming
administration. Like the "White House Chef," the WH Farmer would serve
both a functional and symbolic role. There are 5 acres of WH lawn that
could be turned into an organic vegetable garden and orchard. Michael
Pollan is one of the supporters of this effort. For more information
and to vote see: Who Will Be the First White House Farmer?
<http://whitehousefarmer.com/>

Voting is underway until January 31 (tomorrow). From NYS, Elizabeth
Henderson of Peacework Organic Farm is one of the nominees and Although
she is the top 10, she is currently trailing other farmers. Ms.
Henderson has been a proponent of CSAs and a local food activist. Go

Ms. Henderson.
