Come learn about one of the most intriguing and mutually beneficial ways to enjoy the freshest locally grown food while directly supporting a local farm keeping our community beautiful and healthy.
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a direct arrangement between consumers and farmers where you join a farm now and provide capitol for them to invest in their operations (when they can put it to best use!) and in return you receive a weekly "share" of the farm's bounty throughout the growing season. On Sunday, March 15 will be Cornell Cooperative Extension's Annual CSA Fair where you will have an ideal opportunity to "shop around" and learn about the different CSA options available in our area. Come peruse the informational displays and speak directly with farmers about their CSA including share size and cost, products available, pick-up locations, u-pick options, on-farm work and social opportunities. Bring friends, neighbors and family to enjoy the fun, hands-on agricultural-related activities offered for children of all ages. The CSA Fair will be from 1-4pm at Boynton Middle School located at 1601 North Cayuga Street in Ithaca NY. For more information please contact Liz Karabinakis or Debbie Teeter at Cooperative Extension, 607-272-2292. This event is free and all are welcome. Please circulate this invitation amongst others who might be interested. CSAs have grown tremendously in popularity and will fill up fast so come find out what all the buzz is about and don't miss out this season! --- Elizabeth Viviana Karabinakis Community Food Educator Cornell Cooperative Extension Tompkins County [email protected] (607) 272-2292 Cornell Cooperative Extension provides equal program and employment opportunities. _______________________________________________ For more information about sustainability in the Tompkins County area, please visit: http://www.sustainabletompkins.org/ RSS, archives, subscription & listserv information for: [email protected] http://lists.mutualaid.org/mailman/listinfo/sustainabletompkins Questions about the list? ask [email protected] free hosting by http://www.mutualaid.org
