Party for the Planet
On Friday, April 24th from 6:30-11 PM, the Center for Environmental
Sustainability will hold the 2nd annual Party for the Planet, This year will
feature Rick Redington from Vermont, local favorites, the Native Earthling
Band, and Colleen Kattau and Some Guys from Cortland all of whom bring Earthy
lyrics and sweet music to our ears from a solar powered stage. This will be at
the Women's Community Building. Tix are available at Ludgate Farms, Home Green
Home, Greenstar, Volume Records and the Farmers' Market at booth 21. $5-$10
donation or bring a dish to share.
Earth Day Ithaca Celebration
The culmination of Earth Week happens Sunday April 26th at the Farmers' Market
pavilion from Noon to 5:00PM. Opening with remarks from County Administrator
Joe Mareane, a participatory ceremony and parade, the event will also feature
over 70 exhibits including a new fashion show titled “Transfigure”, eco-tours
on the Tiohero boat, an Eco-Olympics, a chance for “Breaking Bread” in
discussion groups and much more.
