Adrianna used to work with me at the Finger Lakes State Parks. She tells me
that she still has room on this magical trip for a few more people, and she
might be able to negotiate the price. Please pass this along to anyone you
think might be interested.
Thanks,
Tony

The Finger Lakes are working their magic again. Next Saturday (May 2) a great
group of people devoted to this place will embark from Ithaca by foot on a 3
day/2 night journey through the local wilds to pay homage to this place and get
to know it on a deeper level using all of their senses.

This trip was inspired by the Yosemite National Park High Sierra Camp loop
trips where hikers, guided by a Park Service ranger naturalist, complete a 55
mile loop in the high Sierra Nevada mountains over 7 days, staying each night
in camps where everything is prepared for them, meaning that they can walk
unencumbered to fully enjoy the experience of walking through some amazing
landscape. Place Odyssey 2009 is an experiment in the same vein led by a
Yosemite ranger naturalist and loop trip leader who is also a native of the
Finger Lakes. This year we will even have a guest trip assistant who has lived
and worked in the most remote of the High Sierra Camps for 3 seasons!

This will be a roughly 30 mile walk over 3 days...not easy, but very rewarding.
We will stop for afternoon tea and snacks and for special activities such as a
place-related poetry workshop with an award winning local poet, local chocolate
tastings and to smell the wildflowers. Can we notice a difference between the
taste of wines from different Finger Lakes? What stories can we read in the
landscape? The first night will be spent rustic camping in the forest
(everything provided and set-up for us) and the second night will be spent in a
wonderful bed and breakfast on a lesser-known lake of the area. More details
about this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity are available at the following link:

But time is limited as well as space for this particular chance to engage in
this place we call the Finger Lakes and challenge yourself in a very rewarding
way. IF YOU ARE AT ALL INTERESTED, PLEASE CALL OR E-MAIL IMMEDIATELY and we
might be able to get you into this group waiting to embark on a great
adventure.

Happy Trails,
Adrianna

P.S. Please don't let the cost deter you. It is expensive to put a trip like
this together, but the money supports local farmers and other place-conscious
businesses. If you seem like a good fit for the group but cannot afford the
full price, we may be able to work something out. There is also an option for
just joining us for the weekend, if you absolutely can't take the Monday off of
work.
