Attention K-12 teachers:
Climate Change and Energy Efficiency Challenge has been announced by NYSERDA. This program offers awards of up to $500 per classroom to spur creative approaches to encouraging energy-efficient behavior in school, at home, and in the community. The Energy Smart Students program will fund up to 30 innovative projects that increase students' energy and global climate change awareness, while providing student leadership opportunities and outreach to the community. Funds can be used to purchase supplies or equipment for use in hands-on activities related to energy efficiency or for community education events. Winners will be chosen based on their creativity in delivering the climate changer message and the extent to which students take a leadership role in school and community efforts.

Applications must be received by September 30.
