Greetings,

I'm launching Ithaca's Food Web (www.ithacasfoodweb.com), now open for public consumption!

I created this blog because I've read a lot in the national media about the rise of local food, and there have been some interesting examples about what people are doing around the country. But, I wondered, what's going on right here, locally?

I'm answering that question on Ithaca's Food Web by posting about all the growing, buying, foraging, cooking, preserving, and eating going on right here in Tompkins County.

Of course, I'm just one person, and this is a work in progress. I invite you to take a look, offer feedback and comment on posts, sign up for weekly email updates, and connect with your food web. And if you have any story ideas or topics you'd like to see me cover, just send me an email.

And, don't forget to check out other great local food blogs, including:
*Eating Ithaca, which produces great podcasts about local food
*Eggs on Sunday, which celebrates cooking with local ingredients and features lovely photographs *Finger Lakes Feasting, which has great info about where to find local ingredients, with recipes too

Thanks and I hope to hear from you!
