I think their tunnel-vision reporting on this is really appalling. I
just wrote to the program and hope many others will, too.

Even if you plan to give attention to the controversies and serious
environmental questions at the heart of this new push to extract natural
gas from the Marcellus formation, the two days of jubilant celebration
of the drillers strike me as an irresponsible distortion of what's
happening. Around central New York State most of what I hear is concerns
about the impact of "fracking" on ground water and aquifers, the
introduction of toxins into the water supplies of our communities, and
even the potential destabilization of the earth beneath us. Are all
those diligent small-scale entrepreneurs really completely unaware of
this criticism and opposition? Will this bizarre obliviousness also get
two days of extended coverage?)
