Hey everyone, My name is Natalie Zandt. I am a junior environmental science major at Cornell University and the outreach coordinator for the SNES (Science of Natural and Environmental Systems) Club on Cornell's campus. Anyway me and a group of Cornell students recently became involved in Earth Aid's National College Fellowship Program, and we are hoping to promote Earth Aid in the Ithaca Community.
Earth Aid (www.earthaid.net ) is the first free online service that enables individual residents/businesses to: - monitor their actual electric, gas, and water savings online, in one place; - receive customized tips to save energy and water; and - earn rewards for their savings in the form of discounts/coupons from local businesses in Ithaca - the local businesses who participate get to advertise on Earth Aid's website, thus encouraging more eco-friendly customers Basically its a great tool that will benefit: the environment, residence's wallets, and local businesses in Ithaca. Its a great market based solution for increasing energy efficiency. Currently Cornell's Earth Aid team has 3 main goals: - recruiting individuals/households to join the Earth Aid service and save energy in their homes - recruiting local businesses in Ithaca to serve as Earth Aid Rewards Partners and reward individuals for saving energy - planning a launch event to formally announce the creation of the Earth Aid Rewards Network I've attached a more detailed document for businesses interested in possibly becoming Earth Aid Rewards Partners.
