OMG, this is chilling to listen to:
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=120043996

"Extracting it is hard, dirty work..." Doh! Really? I thought gas was "clean"...

This is focused on compressor stations and the air quality and noise issues
related to them. It talks about Dish, TX and the air study that they had to pay
for themselves, that showed high levels of carcinogens and neurotoxins, like
benzine. Neighbors experience dizziness, blackouts, and nausea. Compressor
stations cause ruptured ear drums due to the noise. Horses getting sick, going
blind, dying.

Terri Larson, a spokesperson for Enbridge Energy says "We're in compliance with
state regulations..." Well then maybe state regulations are lacking!

"Individual stations meet state emissions regulations, but what is the
cumulative effect of a complex like the one at Dish?" 100's on tons of
emissions per year. The gas industry produces nearly as much pollution as all
the region's vehicle traffic put together.

TX regulators have started a long term study of air quality, results are due
early next year. This should prompt NY to wait until this study is done.

PS. Quotes above are general, I was trying to type as I listened. The
transcript should be available soon, and will have valuable quotes.
