Hi to George and others.

I appreciate and enjoy this e-conversation, but I don’t like being forced to
fit into a frame.

A long time ago, I worked to stay above the fray -- all of the frays --
saying that I was a scientist (Ph.D.'d in geography, focused on water
resources) and needed to be 'unbiased' and 'consider all sides equally.'

Well, one day another threat arrived, and it was not in my back yard by
about 100 miles. But I began to think about the environment in that area,
and realized that it did not have a voice.

Since then I have worked on behalf of the voiceless -- the trees and the
salamanders and you know the rest. In the Marcellus Shale situation I am
standing up for the voiceless once again, backed up by the facts.
Thanks,
Hilary Lambert

I stand by my post on NIMBYism and leisure class environmentalism.

You may agree with it, or you may disagree with it.  You may even agree
with the "lazy, crazy, deserves to die" non-sequitor posted in response.

To quote the theologian John Henry Newman:  "Truth is brought out by many
minds working together freely."
