I'm afraid I can't agree.
The problem isn't saying yes or saying no - it's choosing wisely when to
say yes and no. (And deciding what's an alternative, and what's more of
the same.)
It's not difficult to take any claim that "you're just saying no" and
turn it around into "I'm saying yes to XYZ alternatives" or vice versa,
but there's little advantage there. Well, except that people like to
hear "yes" more than "no", so there's an emotional appeal.
Say yes to the wrong alternative, and you may end up longing for a
different choice.
