- SHITAKE MUSHROOM LOGS -- One for $25, Two for $40 These sugar maple logs were sustainably harvested from Cayuta Sun (our demo site) and inoculated in the spring of 2009. They will bear mushrooms for two to five years beginning this coming spring. You purchase includes background information and full instructions for care. An economical way to enjoy fresh woodland mushrooms at home. - FLPCI T-SHIRTS -- $15 each or two for $20 Beautifully hand screen-printed FLPCI logo on recycled cotton t-shirts in a variety of sizes and colors. - SCHOLARSHIPS to “Community Training In Ecological Design” course -- $200 each. Support one low-income student to attend our “Community Training in Ecological Design” course, which will equip them with skills to grow food, harvest rainwater, and remediate soil. We are selecting students along with the Southside Community Center who will benefit personally and share knowledge with their communities. - GIFT CERTIFICATES – Any amount (classes range from $25 - $1200) Give the gift of regenerative education. We will send along a FLPCI gift certificate in any amount with a local tree-free card from Acorn Designs. These can be customized for a specific class or for any class the recipient wishes to attend in 2010. - DONATIONS: Our programs have always been helped by donations from our alumni. Check out our Programs for 2010: COMMUNITY TRAINING IN ECOLOGICAL DESIGN Every THURSDAY, 6:30 to 9:00 pm, FEBRUARY 18th through MAY 6th, 2010 *please note date change! LOCATION TBA (Downtown Ithaca) - Design to meet the needs of your family and neighbors. - Learn to garden, preserve food, compost, capture rainwater and prune trees. - Rethink how to bring abundance and health to your neighborhood, home and work. - Mobilize our community to increase food access and development of green jobs. We will meet once a week throughout the winter to discover the principles and techniques of permaculture and ecology that help us become better involved in the future of our land and people. Class work will include a self-selected design project; you can design your backyard, garden space, or an entire neighborhood. Examples and applications will be given in both an urban and rural context. Class will be a balance of lecture and hands-on learning. We will also complete a group design and implementation to extend our learning for the benefit of the community. Instructors include Steve Gabriel, Michael Burns, Karryn Olson-Ramanujan, Josh Dolan, and special guests.
